Student Minister Job Description:
HCC is seeking a full or part time Student Minister (teens, tweens, and children). The ideal candidate loves God and loves people and desires to lead teams of volunteers to evangelize and disciple students in the Harrisburg area. This position will report to both the lead pastor and the board of directors and will work in cooperation with the purpose and congregation of HCC.
Key responsibilities:
HCC is seeking a full or part time Student Minister (teens, tweens, and children). The ideal candidate loves God and loves people and desires to lead teams of volunteers to evangelize and disciple students in the Harrisburg area. This position will report to both the lead pastor and the board of directors and will work in cooperation with the purpose and congregation of HCC.
Key responsibilities:
- Connecting with the students in the community and their families
- Identifying, recruiting, and training volunteers
- Organizing regular and special student events
- Promoting and communicating student event information to the church and community
- Living out an authentic faith that involves growth and models Christian character
- Serving in and participating in church activities and events that involve the whole congregation.
- Keeping accurate records of student contact information and receipts. Work related activities will be given in a weekly report to the pastor and monthly report to the board. Being punctual in turning things in and being present at meetings.
- Being involved in professional development.
- Investing 40-50 hours per week on these responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
- Two or more years of experience is preferred, but not required
- An ability to recruit, train, and lead a team to accomplish a ministry goal.
- Ability to communicate to and relate with different age groups.
- Self-motivated to pursue the Great Commission
- An understanding of the Bible and the ability to teach it to others
- Living a moral life based on the teachings of the Bible
- Compensation and benefits will correspond to the experience level of the minister. There is a parsonage available that will be included in the benefits package.
