ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Help wanted:
* Bldg. and Grounds Chair.
* Someone to oversee work/repairs on parsonage.
Current needs:
* Substitute for Jr High & Sr High Sunday School Classes.
* Operation Christmas Child will now have a box set up year-round for donations (such as school supplies when they go on clearance). We will be having a packing party with supplies collected throughout the year & add these boxes to the boxes that our members currently fill each year.

*8/18 - 1:00 Most Googled questions Bible Study “What happens when we die?”
*8/20 - 6:30 PM Meeting at HCC Discuss with Pastor John the next steps regarding our youth ministry and future staff plans.
*8/26—6:30 PM Elder & Deacon Meeting.

Would you answer ‘Yes’ to any of the following statements?
1. When asked if I am saved or if I am trusting Jesus as my savior, I am unsure. I would like to have more clarity about my own salvation.
2. I have not been baptized as a believer. Or, I am wondering if I should be rebaptized because of the circumstances surrounding my first baptism.
3. I am unclear about what it means to be a member at HCC. I want to be more familiar with our Statement of Faith, Purpose Statement, and Membership Covenant.
4. I need help developing a quiet time with the Lord. Attempts that I have made in this area have been unsuccessful. I don’t feel like I am experiencing a personal relationship with the Lord.
5. My relationship with God is isolated. I’m not a part of a small group and I don’t have other believers in my life with whom I discuss my faith. I would like that to change.
6. Giving money to God’s work is an afterthought for me, not something I am intentional about. I would like to be more intentional about my giving.
7. I am unaware of any gifts and talents that I have that could be used to build the kingdom of God.
8. I am aware of my gifts and talents. However, I would like help finding ways to use them to better serve God.
9. I want to be Spirit-led, but I’m unsure about how to know if something is coming from the Spirit or my own mind. I would like some coaching in this area.
10. I feel unequipped to share the gospel with someone else. If someone asked me how to become a Christian. I don’t know what I would tell them.
11. I have never shared my testimony with anyone else and I would like help developing it and learning how to articulate it to others.
12. I would like to be more involved in missions than I currently am. I could use some help and ideas about how I can be a part of reaching out to other cultures with my gifts and talents.
